Does the Italia Cafe I grind its own beans?
Yes. The Italia Cafe I has a built-in grinder with an adjustable grind dial. Use whole beans only in the hopper.
Can I use pre-ground coffee?
Yes. Pre-ground coffee goes into the separate ground coffee container, up to two measuring spoons.
Can the Italia Cafe I make two cups at once?
Yes, for supported drinks. The manual lists maximums of 2 x 240 ml for coffee, 2 x 60 ml for espresso and 2 x 120 ml for lungo.
Does the Italia Cafe I make milk drinks?
Yes. The supplied milk container and suction tube make milk-based drinks, with adjustable milk quantity. Latte macchiato also has an interval setting of 20 to 60 seconds. Replace the milk suction tube every 3 months.
How do I clean and descale the Italia Cafe I?
The machine rinses automatically at start-up and shut-down. It also has a milk circuit cleaning program (about 3 minutes), a Clean program (about 20 minutes) and a Descale program (about 45 minutes). Use a citric acid based descaler, not vinegar, and fill the tank with still water only. The manual also covers water hardness testing, with a hardness setting of 1 to 4.
What warranty and return terms apply to the Italia Cafe I?
The machine has a 1 year limited warranty, and warranty claims need your receipt and an RA number. Redfern also offers a 30 day return window.
