Medical & Wellness Product Disclaimer
Important guidance for the safe, informed use of Redfern massage, recovery, heating, cooling, humidification and wellness products.
This page provides general safety and product-use information. It is not medical advice and does not replace the instructions, warnings, contraindications or intended use stated in a product manual, label or authorized product information.
Not medical advice or a diagnosis
Redfern Enterprises Ltd. is a product retailer and distributor, not a medical clinic. Website content, demonstrations, customer-service conversations, testimonials and product descriptions are provided for general information and product support. They are not a diagnosis, prescription or recommendation to treat, cure or prevent a disease or abnormal physical condition. Do not delay or replace care from a qualified health professional because of information on this website.
Ask a qualified health professional before use
Consult an appropriate health professional before using a massage chair, massager, heated product or other wellness device if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or implanted device, heart or circulatory condition, diabetes, reduced sensation, neuropathy, osteoporosis, a bleeding disorder, recent surgery or injury, unexplained pain, swelling or inflammation, limited mobility, or any other condition that may affect safe use. Obtain professional guidance before use by children, frail adults or anyone unable to understand or respond to the controls and warnings.
Follow the product instructions
Read and follow the complete manual, labels, warnings, assembly instructions, maintenance requirements and recommended session limits for the exact model. Use the product only for its stated purpose and with approved components. Do not modify, bypass safeguards or use a product that is damaged, wet, unusually hot, leaking, producing an electrical smell or operating abnormally. Keep products, cords and moving parts away from children and pets as directed.
Massage chairs and massagers
Begin at a low intensity and use only on areas permitted by the manual. Do not use over open wounds, acute injuries, swollen or inflamed areas, areas with reduced sensation, or any body area excluded by the manufacturer. Do not fall asleep while a massage or heat function is operating. Stop immediately if you experience pain, numbness, dizziness, shortness of breath, unusual discomfort or worsening symptoms, and seek medical advice when appropriate.
Humidifiers and indoor-air products
Humidifiers must be emptied, cleaned, disinfected and refilled as directed. Stagnant water can allow bacteria or mould to grow, and cool-mist units do not boil water. Use the water type specified by the manufacturer, place the unit securely away from electrical hazards and do not direct mist at walls, furniture or electronics. Monitor indoor humidity and generally keep relative humidity within the range recommended by Health Canada, approximately 30% to 50%, to reduce excess moisture and mould risk. People with asthma, severe allergies or respiratory conditions should seek professional advice if symptoms occur or worsen.
Heated products and appliances
Heat can cause burns, particularly for users with reduced circulation or sensation. Use the lowest suitable setting, observe time limits, keep vents unobstructed and maintain required clearances from combustible materials. Never leave a product operating unattended when the manual prohibits it. Stop use if overheating, smoke, sparking, damaged wiring or unusual odour occurs and disconnect power only when it is safe to do so.
Individual results and product claims
Comfort and wellness experiences vary. Testimonials describe individual experiences and do not guarantee similar results. Product performance, health-related and therapeutic claims must be understood within the product's stated intended use and supported scope. A disclaimer cannot expand a product's authorized indications or make an unsupported claim lawful. Redfern does not represent a product or company as “approved by Health Canada.” Where a product is regulated as a medical device, advertising and use must remain within applicable Canadian authorization, licensing and labelling requirements.
Stop use, emergencies and incident reporting
Stop using a product if it causes injury, a near miss, an unexpected reaction, property damage or a serious safety concern. For a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency service; Redfern customer support is not an emergency service. Keep the product, packaging, model and serial information, photographs and a description of what occurred, then contact Redfern promptly. Consumers may also report product safety concerns directly to Health Canada. Redfern handles reportable consumer-product incidents in accordance with applicable Canadian requirements.
Recalls and safety notices
Follow all recall, corrective-action and safety notices issued for a product. Stop using an affected product when instructed and follow the stated remedy. Product safety information may be updated as new facts become available.
Responsibility and applicable rights
Use contrary to instructions, warnings, intended purpose or reasonable safety practices can create a risk of injury or property damage. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Redfern is not responsible for harm caused by unauthorized modification, prohibited use, failure to follow instructions or continued use after a known safety warning. Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or overrides a right, warranty, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Canadian law.
